Thursday 25th November, 1971
Day 13 at sea. I still have a bit of a cold, and I do a bit of painting.
Friday 26th November, 1971
Day 14 at sea. The seas have been good for a few days, so we are a hundred miles ahead of schedule, even with the frequent stops for engine repairs.
When the engine stops and we slow down, we really start rocking and rolling.
Saturday 27th November, 1971
Day 15 at sea. With the top of Scotland in sight, I put the owl back in the forecastle so it can fly at dusk. Some of the crew scare it out early, so I hope it makes it to land okay. There’s a bit of a wind, but it’s been eating well and looked good.
Sunday 28th November, 1971
Day 16 at sea. We sail down the coast, and at about 1:00 p.m. we arrive at the port of Newcastle.
