We arrive in Winnipeg, stay at a hostel, and then head for Selkirk, Manitoba—only out of curiosity, as I was born in Selkirk, Scotland, my ultimate destination.

The local newspaper, the Selkirk Enterprise, takes a picture and a few notes, shows us the printing rooms, and introduces us to Ross McCrae, who invites us to the pub and also to stay at his place. We consume large amounts of liquor, and then even more when we arrive at his place to watch colour TV.
